I haven't taken part since 2015. You might have known me as Catlovesbear. I stopped posting because my friend Fairythoughts passed away and I completely lost my crafting mojo. Nearly all of 2016 was a miserable crafting void. Until I got myself a motivational board:
As ever, there are other projects going on all the time. Currently, I'm knocking up two birthday cards. I hope to feature them next week after both the recipients have received them.
My big project at the moment is the Sydney tapestry I bought from a lovely lady called Hannah Bass at last October's Knit and Stitch show at Ally Pally. Click on her name to see her full range of tapestries.
I bought the Sydney after I finished the San Francisco I bought at the same event a year prior. I hope to go again this October but can't decide whether to buy the blue and yellow New York, Rome, Seattle or Vancouver!
This has been lovely. Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by and see what I've been doing. I hope you might also have time to take a look at another WOYWW blogger today:)
See you next week.
welcome back, we miss Janet too. Glad you are creating again though. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy. Welcome back. Grieving is hard, but necessary - well done on taking the time you needed. Those tapestries are something else! Enjoy being creative.

Welcome back! I too have just rejoined after a much longer absence. I am sorry to hear about your friend and completely understand about losing your inspiration and willingness to craft. It sort of knocks the stuffing out of you but that's okay. You are back and making something beautiful! I am curious about the knicker kit and felicity the lobster ...the mind boggles! Happy WOYWW! Anne#10
ReplyDeleteHaha, I've already started Felicity the Lobster, so I will feature her next week for you! Thanks for stopping by x
DeleteWelcome back, Janet is well remembered here, I had the privilege of beading with her at the first crop....it is good that you are feeling able to pick up things you put aside whilst deeply grieving, your board is a fab idea to keep you moving forward, be kind to yourself, allowing yourself to get lost in the pleasure of creativity again...Dxxx #31 Hope the knickers are great big safety pant style
ReplyDeletewelcome back, I understand why you cant decide, they are all colorful and funky, good luck, Vicky
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you back. Janet was much loved by many of us. I'm sure she will be thrilled to see your return to the fold too. Keep up the good work.

It's lovely to hear you've found your mojo once again and rediscovered your talents. Those tapestries are brilliant! Best of luck choosing your next one - Rome sounds interesting. Happy crafting, Max #27
ReplyDeleteOh Lucy, it's SO fantastic to see you back again - I know Janet would be pleased too. Her passing knocked the stuffing out of many of us I think. Thank you for coming back to WOYWW, I enjoy seeing what you make, it's always something a little bit different and that Sydney tapestry is along those lines. I love it! Hope you have fun too.
ReplyDeleteTake care lovely gal,
Hugs, LLJ 18 xxxx
I think the crafting void of 2016 must have been catching as I was the same, but trying to get motivated this year too, love your board, I guess that is helping you lots considering the gorgeous tapestries. I've not done one in years. Last one is up on my bedroom wall and is of the Californian Dessert, some 25 years ago since my visit and purchase of the kit. Thanks for visiting will look into the teas you suggest. I remember Fairythoughts fondly too, it is so difficult when someone leaves us, gentle hugs. BJ#9
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tapestries - and a lot of work! That will keep you going for awhile! I love the San Fransisco one, as I grew up near SF! Glad you are back! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #45
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! And thanks for the visit! Your tapestry is beautiful. Grieving is difficult and can really knock the stuffing out of one. I think I remember Fairythoughts on the WOYWW hop though I didn't know her personally. Again, welcome back!

ReplyDeleteHi Lucy, I totally agree with Julia, Janet would be chuffed to see you get back to crafting, and the world of crafters in general. She was indeed the most wonderful lady, and I know many of us WOYWWers have fond memories of her.I'm totally smiling at one topic on your vision board- 'Knicker Kit'. lol. Have the rest of a lovely week, and thank you for so many good wishes. Hugs, Shaz Xxx #4
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy, sorry for the late visit - welcome back, so glad to hear you rediscovered your mojo. It's always so sad to lose a friend and it can knock you sideways for a long time. However, it's also true that arting and crafting can really help you to heal.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those tapestries, they're stunning, different from any tpaestries I've seen before. Enjoy and have a great weekend :o) Annie C #19
Welcome back, it was so sad when we last met up with Janet and it must have been hard but well done for getting back on the crafting wagon and LOVE the tapestry (I have one I have been trying to complete for over a year-to be honest I haven't gotten far so I am very impressed with yours).
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my desk already
Kyla
Hi Lucy, thanks for sharing your desks!!
ReplyDelete..... I'm not WOYWWing this week.
Way behind on everything... tad frustrating.
I love your tapestries,...do you frame them afterwards or are you making them inito cushions??
You kindly added a comment on my blog candy post. I looked all way through, though, and couldn't find your name on the list of wonderful encouraging people who'd joined my blog.
I thought you might not have realised.
If you don't want to join my blog that's fine, I'll just have to remove your name from the thanks you candy list that's all.
I didn't want to do that in case you'd not realised what the purpose of the candy is for a thank you.
You're welcome to still join in by joining my blog, I'll reciprocate, and welcome you in a link over as well as adding you to the candy. 😊
Thank again.
Happy WOYWW!! Shaz in Oz.x
BTW dopey Dora, I meant to say, yes I miss Fairyhtoughts Janet and dear Eliza from Oz too...
